AK09 first surfaced in the hiphop scene in the late 90's. He established 09 Productions now known as 09Pro in 2001. After a huge underground buzz surrounding his classic 'Duygularim Karisik' which was featured in the theatre production soundtrack Crime and punishment. That same year saw AK09 perform live alongside producer/friend Jazzman on Steve Penk's capital FM open mic show. The duo received a huge reception then anticipated where millions of listeners across the world voted for the duo who was awarded the finalists of the 2001 radio competition.
He issued his first EP Ritimin Sesi 1 in 2001. This then followed with Volumes 2 and 3 of the 7 track EP's. In 2002 Andrea Terrano produced AK09's Burasi single at iguana studios. The Single hit the streets where it received a huge response; the Single was probably one of AK09's biggest successes.

AK09, as a producer, is responsible for many Hip-Hop influential classics such as the Zor Yasam Single, Haykiris EP & other underground releases. In 2005, AK09 became the Underside. The debut album, which is considered to be one of the most influential UK publications in it's genre has since rooted a platform for other UK Turkish independent artists. Since that album he has worked with countless artists and organisations helping them flourish in the Hiphop scene.
Kara Kabuslar was the first official music Video ever created for the Underside album. It contained a stunning concept of the ottoman theatrical characters Karagoz & Hacivat. The Video connected the almost forgotten art from with modern hiphop music. The video illustrates the importance of keeping hiphop original, and was aimed to break the stereotypical mould of Hiphop. It's not going to be his last Video project since he's working together with close friends on another music video which hopes to be just as original and artistic as Kara Kabuslar.
