Chattanooga TN’s WITH FAITH OR FLAMES molds the glory of classic heavy thrash with a progressive hardcore touch to it with guttural vocals balanced against that of a shrieking Medusa. Mix this with head smashing drums and guitar solos that encompass every possible style of metal, past and present, and you have the brutal sound of WITH FAITH OR FLAMES.
Formed out of local bands in the area, WITH FAITH OR FLAMES officially cemented themselves in late 2004 with vocalist Ian Sharp, drummer Andrew Core, bassist Eric Collins and guitarist Eric Weatherford. The band has played with the like of Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster, All Shall perish and Whitechapel, and want to take the world on to believe that all current world views are based upon faith, as no man holds any real answers to the mysteries of the universe. There are limits to the knowledge that mankind can currently possess, and without accepting this as the reality of our situation, mankind is doomed to a life of the flames of hatred and resentment. If you don’t have faith in yourself or what you’re trying to accomplish, you’re most likely going down in flames.
Their Stand And Deliver Records debut A Conquest Triumphant was recorded at Track Six Studios in Cleveland with producer Don Debaise and tracked, mixed and mastered by Brandon Young, with additional engineering by Don Debaise and Dan Sheets and combines styles that are reminiscent to that of The Black Dahlia Murder, Three Inches Of Blood and the old school stylings of Exodus.
The overall feel of the album is meant to encompass all styles of metal while often times making the transition between what would normally be separate genres, feel seamless and natural.
Vocalist Sharp explains “We want more people to know the glory of heavy metal. A metal show is the one place where anyone can come (no matter what social circle you fit into), have a great time, work out some frustrations moshing in the pit or headbanging in the front row, and leave with a smile and an overall positive feeling, despite the angry intensity and dark imagery the music often presents. We don’t care who you are, where you’re from, what you believe in, or what kind of scene you’re a part of. If you are at our show, you are our family.
